Types of Studies

What Are ACA Studies?

In ACA, a Study meeting is a group of ACA fellow travelers who meet weekly to engage in a dedicated study of the ACA Twelve Steps or Laundry List Workbook.

It is an opportunity to work at a deeper level than during regular ACA meetings. All members of twelve-step fellowships are welcome to join us.

Step and Laundry List Studies

Study participants commit to 17-18 weeks of meetings. The first three weeks of a Study are open (anyone can come); for the rest of the Study, the meetings are closed.

You will need the Twelve Steps of ACA Workbook (usually called the “Yellow Book”), or the Laundry List Workbook, which can be purchased at the meeting for $20.00.

For Laundry List Studies, you will need to have completed 1-2 ACA step studies.

Ready Set GO! Studies

The Ready-Set-Go! program was developed by WSO and is sponsored by the Regional ACA Intergroup Greater Toronto and Area. This is a refresher for the old timer, or a bridge to a regular step study for the newcomer.

During the study you will be introduced to the 12 Steps of ACA and get in touch with your Inner Child and Loving Parent. You will get a chance to journal, work in small groups, and share in front of the participants. This workshop will move you forward in your healing process, and will inspire you to be more gentle with yourself. Many newcomers say they feel better prepared to start the longer step study program after taking Ready-Set-GO!!.

The material was taken from the Big Red Book of ACA and the 12 Steps of ACA Workbook, and it has an innovative approach of Step 4.

Working the 12 Steps of ACA had deepened and accelerated healing for countless fellow travellers around the world. The Steps have brought us clarity, quieted our inner turmoil, and brought peace in our relationship with ourselves and others.

The studies can either be 1 day, or 5-6 weeks of 2-3 hour sessions. The workbook can be purchased at the meeting for $15.00.

New studies are dependent on volunteer coordinators. Please check our current schedule, https://acatoronto.org/studies/find-a-study or if interested in starting a new study contact acatorontofellowship@gmail.com for support.
